We start in the morning and thus defy the weather which damage only up to an hour and then ensure unspecified rain. Today then is the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China , one of the few national holidays in mainland China, so all the tourist attractions of Hong Kong will be invaded by mainlander on vacation. To avoid crowds and demonstrations patriotic that I only make me want to do something that brings me to 'stop and shooting, we decided just to visit the island considered the most forgotten and unimportant.
I do try and courage. Result: I love it. Ordino well as an encore.
Most Lamma island is made up of beaches and forests. Here, too, rent a bike and you trekking splitting between the exploration of the deep forests and lush and the surrender a swim in the warm waters of the South China Sea.
Ari ne compra uno e immediately became deeply involved in its creation.
Here, as I said there's a big difference from Cheung Chao: the endless amount of restaurants that sell live fish . The choose and how you cook it in Italian restaurants in luxury. The difference As usual here is the price: a whole sea bass huge choice alive cooked in 10 minutes and costs no more than € 15 most luxurious restaurant in the island. I still prefer to stock up on cheaper fish such as shellfish and mussels. They are fresh and cooked with a gourmet fantasy that reveals all 5000 years of Chinese culture : a perfect mix of exceptional and original flavors that make up a symphony for the palate.
Noto infatti che le celebrazioni sono viste con diffidenza a bit 'all the inhabitants of the former British colony.
I realize just returned to Hong Kong after the ferry could take the bus for a ride on the peak, and during the trip cross a demonstration against Chinese . You always know what freedom of thought in the day when we celebrate the anniversary of the most important for the new home, the day most pompous and patriotic, the government authorizes an anti patriotic in the center. The event is extremely hard but peaceful and orderly. The procession is accompanied by very diligent police officers and even stop for red.
" The Peak", the peak is the highest hill in Hong Kong, in the beautiful half of the island. You get there by bus or train with a characteristic that climbs on the peak at 50 ° nclinato . At the peak there is a wax museum, the "Believe it or not?" Barnum, various clubs and of course a spectacular view of the island. I have photographed extensively in all these things in previous years (maybe I'll put the old photos in an appendix), so here I limit myself to only a couple of pictures (there is also much mist that promises rain) and to document the tide of people that are going to see the peak location in the beautiful fireworks that will be held tonight at the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In this video I shot on the train can intuire la pendenza, davvero formidabile. Sembra di essere su un ottovolante...
Ora, dovete sapere che a me piace provare sempre nuovi sapori . Ari è di origine malese and now agrees to eat one with me, to see if I can overcome it sucks ... We decided also to see the fireworks from the hotel room that houses: you will not see very well because of bias over the skyline but that's something. Then we head to Causeway Bay to buy durian in any supermarket. The amount of people that invaded Hong Kong is huge, so much so that I stop a moment for some pictures:
buy the durian, which put us in three different bags, one inside the other view of the incredible stench, and enter the hotel . Note that even here Berlusconi has criticized and mocked :
Maybe because I had sinusitis, perhaps because the smell is no longer mentioned by our Prime Minister the effects of a smell less like the durian, I can easily exceed a stunning initial smell and taste the fruit, which appears more than nice: it has the soft texture of the best of the best Italian bread crumbs, is tasty, juicy and very sweet especially . A heavenly result, Tropicalissimo. I become fan and now purchase the other four samples which shall devour the next few days.
Suggestion for our own business: that is the case of importance also in Italy? I say that would justify a number of consumers.
Then I watch the fireworks. Looks great, but the bay is even more spectacular, and there's every day:
(for the purists of copyright: all movies are made with open source software Ubuntu Linux, and music are all in the public domain, including executions)
Above: piglet ribs grilled with a sauce of curry, fried fish with type tenpura, cold chicken legs with garlic sauce and parsley, fried sardines pregnant, Thai spring rolls (with vegetables) and Chinese (With meat).
Under: salad of grapefruit and fried fish in oyster sauce.
