Oh well, I have to. Each year, this should be done, it's a stupid habit, but it is fun and can then be used to report something that may not have heard.
Here's my personal ranking of the best albums of 2009. This is not a ranking of actual quality, but only to a ranking based on the mere personal taste.
1) Circulus - "Thought Becomes Reality"
This is the best album of Circulus, who not content with being a niche band to a record indie niche, you are licensed to base their personal record, to be more indie . And we indie snob like this, is not it? United Jethro Tulls to something very vintage electronics, put in psychedelic, brit pop, very medieval, mixed with lyrics about goblins, English gardens, thoughts become reality, small woodland creatures, bodies made of light and so on, pray with a more English accent that you can not, and get a rough idea of what may be the Circulus. Needless to say, if I put them in first place, I love them excessively.
2) The Horrors - "Primary Colours"
Yes, there is a hand of Portished and feels. This is the best blend of punk and rock I've ever heard since the Ramones, and has run very sorry. Listen and listen all the time.
3) Grizzly Bears - "Veckatimest"
are branded as a bit 'too soporific, but I love them beyond measure these Americans who manage to merge the acoustic with electronics, truly poetic composition to Simon & Garfunkel with the most sophisticated electronic experimentation to entrarti under the skin in a deep sea of soothing psychedelic nightmare that is sweet to drown. The album tells me more, in terms of intellectual depth of the poem and music research. If only it were in a bit more catchy, it won first place in the standings.
4) Editors - "In This Light And On This Evening"
and style reigns supreme, in a whirlwind of stuffy pleasantly cupissimo nightmare electronic rock in the middle strada tra i primi Depeche Mode e l'indie rock. Non aggiunge nulla agli splendidi album precedenti, ma ne uguaglia perfettamente lo splendore.
5) Doves - "Kingdom Of Rust"
6) Muse - "The Resistance"
"Senbee", I wonder, "and through it all 'I'm indie, we do Muse?" We make them a terrible figure, I answer, because the fact that the others are all coming from the indie scene is not explicitly intended by me, but it is only the result of the pitiful state in which they made the major labels today. Let's face it now: this is the worst album by Muse. Citationist too, too "done as a joke," too over the top, too bombastic, Baroque, and sarcastic megalomaniac. But is his exaggeration, its totally out of reasonable bounds, which I like very much. Fill also lack the Queen, and for the general atmosphere (tragic-ironic-kitsch, catchy but apparently schizzatissima and experimental), and for the style in a couple of songs is explicitly mentioned, even with samples from solos of Brian May. I prefer Muse's "Knights of Cydonia", but it is never too late to go back to the glories of that wonderful piece.
7) Sunset Rubdown - "Dragonslayer"
Here we are among the last Beatles and the first David Bowie ideas foaming and convincing style, really says something no squares in the mere exercise in style which unfortunately many others - also excellent - band from Canada.
8) Ebony Bones! - "Bones Of My Bones"
should also be fun, right? Well, it had been years since I've heard music like that. So truly gorgeous, I mean. We are one of the first Beastie Boys and Cansai De Ser Sexy (the first album I mean, not the commercial the second). That music that is perfect if you're on the beach with 50 friends and friends naked and drunk, when you realize that everything is too anarchic and fun way to not end up in hospital or police station, but in the meantime you enjoy it and you unleash bad.
9) Love Me - "Watersport"
One word: neurasthenia . This album is a genuinely, genuinely neurotic . One of those things that after hearing them after you find yourself apologizing to the bathroom sobbing as Roger Waters in "Do not Leave Me Now" of The Wall . The "Love Me" are from the dissolution of the greatest Black Eye, and I'm a natural continuation, or rather the inevitable course of psychiatric illness.
10) The Prodigy - "Invaders Must Die"
Boys terrible electronics and more hick in bad taste, can one more time in order to create more genuinely ignorant of the hard ' year. You ignorance wise, what makes you an idiot but inexplicably tangled up clubbers to be so fierce.
11) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "It's Blitz"
Here I feel more indie and less snobbish ... A disc so more consciously trendy than the previous of this amazing band that will probably turn up their noses more than a music critic in search of "pure", but they are dicks to them this album is fun, catchy, just beautiful to listen and admirably product. We are at rock-trance, say, generally, though not very defined.
12) Kasabian - "West Rider Pauper Lunatic Asylum"
Indeed, there is nothing new in this album of Brit pop at its best. But dutifully fills the terrible lack the dissolution of Blur and Oasis pitiful boiling after just the first album left in my heart.
13) The Decemberist - "The Hazards of Love"
Mixing rock ballads wise Phrygian scale, Canadians Decemberist churn out an album where extremely attractive, particularly in the interludes, they can create that magical atmosphere of the dawn, you can almost hear the smell of crisp air and the mist that rises through the woods while a pale sun illuminates the timid wild Canadian landscape.
14) múm - "To Sing Along Songs You Do not Know"
I really like, this Icelandic band that blends traditional music locally for years, played with strange instruments, with original and almost hidden electronic, without neglecting a healthy experimentalism also very thorough. The soft, hypnotic voice of the singer and the sweetness of the dream-like compositions makes this band, and this yet another good album, something new, a breath of fresh air in a suffocating landscape of contemporary popular music. E poi sono islandesi, come Bjork. E si sente, molto.
15) Dead Weather - "Horehound"
"Wow! Sembra quasi il nuovo album dei White Stripes!" Poi leggi bene i credits del CD e vedi che c'è Jack White alla batteria. Eh eh eh, vecchio marpione!
Insomma, niente di nuovo anche qui, ma se vi piace il genere - come al sottoscritto - questo è un album coi controfiocchi. La mia preferita è "I cut like a buffalo", che sembra realmente provenire da un'altra epoca ahimè dimenticata.

16) Neko Case - "Middle Cyclone"
Neko Case is the singer and author of "New Pornographers" historical Canadian band of all respect. This is his solo album, though suffering a degree of formality (but gave her a place in the top ten U.S. single case of indie music that scale the U.S. charts), is full of really beautiful songs. This is pure songwriting as much like me. The hope for the talented, nostalgic Neko Case, is to stay on top of the charts without the end which made the fellow Alanis Morissette or unlistenable Lavigne.
17) Beirut - "March Of The Zapotec" / realpeople - "Holland"
18) Passion Pit - "Manners"
debut with a bang: a more beautiful than the songs of perfect pop, but arranged with electronics rather original. It is the staggering amount of amazing inventions that, much of their actual depth. Surely happen sooner or later someone will extract pieces here and there and this album will draw fifty hit songs. It is not my thing, I do not touch the heart, but I have to bow to the objective quality and quantity of inventions that erupt like a volcano just uncovered. It's an album so rich that it can be appreciated only after several good plays. The hope is to add a bit 'more substance in the future and hope that this is not a flash in the pan.
19) Phoenix - "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
To fill the distressing lack of good pop rock music in the contemporary music scene this year we think of France, with this amazing album, in where every single song is a potentially infinite success. In reality there is little new in this perfect rock and brit very very electronic, halfway between the sounds of Air France and more than most rock of the British, but what is it works fine.
20) Iron & Wine - "Around The Well"
Ok, this is just a collection of unreleased and rarities, but the same place in the ranking of the best albums of 2009 because the great Samuel Beam ( aka Iron & Wine) is the best composer of poetic ballads of today, ideal continuation of that trend running from Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel passes and Joan Baez, a lot of peeps in the production of John Denver and reaches to the first Belle & Sabastian. Well, you get the kind: to hear and sung with a guitar, being always attentive to the texts well.
Sorry to leave out of the rankings, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and other "big" released in 2009 with the new album, but there is little you can do: they are boiled. Album are clearly motivated by contractual maturity and genuine inspiration.
Sorry to not even enter the album charts in almost all sites reported to be the best indie music of the year: "Merriweather Post Pavilion" Animal Collective of . It certainly appreciate the innovative and powerful technique that has created true psychedelic sound with pop complessissime voices and real instruments mixed with sophisticated electronics, but such feelings do not tell me anything. I mean, how musical invention and inspiration is the usual gnegnè American teenagers who listen on headphones when they go to college in skateboarding. Bleah.
